Colorado Premier Roofing installs and repairs all types of commercial roofing systems “sometimes referred to as flat roofing” including EPDM, SBS and APP modified membrane roofing.

EPDM

is a very sturdy man-made rubber roofing sheeting (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer), used in flat roofed buildings all over the world. The main ingredients of EPDM are propylene and ethylene which come from oil and natural gas. EPDM comes in black and white, many widths from 7.5 feet up to fifty feet. It comes in two thicknesses; 40 and 60 millimeters. EPDM is installed either by mechanically attaching it, fully adhered or ballasted. The seams of this EPDM are sealed with specially formulated taping or liquid adhesives.

Installation methods: fully adhered, ballasted, and mechanically fastened.

SBS

is a foil-faced bitumen cap or flashing membrane that can be installed by cold adhesive, hot asphalt and heat welded. This flashing works well with flat roofing systems.

APP

is a bitumen roofing system that can come in smooth or granulated surfaces. They offer several thicknesses, depending on your environmental needs. They can be applied with heat welding or cold-applied surfaces. This works well with new flat roofing or repair of flat roofing surfaces.

For a flat roofing system, impregnated with bitumen felt paper is used to cover the roof decking to keep a watertight seal. Asphalt or tar (bitumen) is applied over the felt paper. Gravel is added to keep the UV rays off, keep the roofing from cracking or blistering and add years to the life of the roofing system.

Drainage from a flat roof is key to maintaining the roofing system and ensuring the roof lasts as long as possible. There are several drainage systems that can be installed by Colorado Premier Roofing that ensure the durability of your roof, is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sound.

TPO

Thermoplastic polyolefin are single ply membranes and are among the fastest growing commercial roofing products. This material can be repeatedly softened by heating and hardened by cooling. TPO sheets usually contain flame retardants, UV absorbers and other additives to enhance their performance. The material is usually white and sold in two thicknesses. The seams are sealed by heat welding.

Installation methods: fully adhered, mechanically fastened.

LAKEWOOD ROOFING INSURANCE FAQ

Ask them to provide a copy of their insurance to you for validation. Inadequate insurance provided by the contractor could lead to litigation between the homeowner and the contractor if one of the contractor’s employees sustains and injury at your home. Colorado requires licensing for roofing contractors, however, unscrupulous contractors will work unlicensed and can lead to a whole lot of legal trouble for you as the homeowner. Do your due diligence, and check out the contractor for proper licensing with the state. Check this link for Colorado Premier Roofing’s status for licensing in the state of Colorado.Pay your insurance deductible. Be wary of any roofing contractor who tells you they can handle your repair or placement without the homeowner having to pay their insurance deductible is asking you to commit insurance fraud and putting the homeowner in danger. Your insurance deductible is your responsibility and the contractor should include that in the quote they deliver without inflating the cost of the service to cover the cost of the deductible. Stay in your integrity and the agreement you made with your insurance company, and require the contractor to honor that commitment as well.

Be responsible for your own insurance claim. Some contractors claim to be insurance “claim specialists” or that they will “take care of your insurance claim” and they may be trying to break the law. Most states would consider it illegal for the contractor to act on the homeowner’s behalf when negotiating an insurance claim. Be wary of any contractor who could be leading you as a homeowner into possible legal action. They are not working “for” you in any way, shape or form.
